Young animals are just like children—it’s a continuous responsibility to keep them safe and happy. Vaccinations are your pet’s best defense against many viral and bacterial infections, protecting them from potentially deadly diseases like Canine Parvovirus and Rabies. These vaccinations are especially crucial during their puppy or kitten stage, when their immune systems are still developing and require added protection to stay healthy.
At East Mountain Animal Hospital, our veterinarians are here to guide you through every step of the vaccination process, including:
• Comprehensive pet examination and introductory vaccinations
• Essential booster shots
• Personalized vaccine education
Ensure your pet’s safety and well-being by scheduling their vaccinations today.

If you and your pet are travelling to a country that is free from rabies, the titre test is required to establish that your pet is sufficiently immune against rabies. It is necessary for any pet travelling internationally to ensure the safety of local pets against rabies.
Blood is drawn from your pet and is sent out to the lab to test the level of antibodies in the sample. The lab will run the collected sample against infected cells to determine the rabies neutralizing titre value in your pet's blood sample. Most countries require a level of 0.5 IU/ml or higher to be able to prove that your pet is adequately immunized against rabies. Please know that a small percentage of pets will fail the blood test.
The titre test is a blood sample they send out to the lab and is required to be done 30 days after the administration of rabies. 30 days is the recommended time to wait in order for the antibodies to form although the test can be done earlier if needed.
