We’re thrilled to have introduced Laser Therapy to our patients at East Mountain Animal Hospital at the start of last year!
Our staff is excited to offer this advanced technology to help accelerate your pet’s recovery and healing. Laser therapy can be a valuable addition to your pet’s treatment plan, supporting them every step of the way.
Please note, all patients must be seen by a DVM for a consultation prior to booking a laser session or selecting a package option.
Laser therapy involves the application of light energy to specific areas of the body to stimulate healing. Unlike normal light, laser light is focused and emitted at a single wavelength, making it a “low-level” laser, distinct from surgical or “hot” lasers.
The wavelength of the laser determines its biological effects—some wavelengths are more effective for pain relief, others target inflammation, and some are particularly helpful in treating skin lesions.
This specialized therapy supports your pet’s healing process by addressing specific health concerns.
Therapeutic laser therapy is commonly used to treat a variety of conditions, including:
• Muscular sprains and strains
• Osteoarthritis
• Post-surgical recovery, particularly around incisions and wounds (to stimulate and accelerate healing)
• Musculoskeletal pain of any kind
Laser therapy can help reduce pain, inflammation, and promote faster healing, making it a beneficial treatment option for many pets in need of recovery support.
Photo biomodulation, or the interaction between laser light and tissue, has a profound effect on the body’s cells. The most significant benefits include pain reduction and enhanced healing. This occurs by increasing microcirculation, stimulating cellular activity, and boosting the production of growth factors—essential components for tissue repair and recovery. These effects help your pet heal faster and feel more comfortable during the recovery process.
All patients are required to book a consultation with a DVM before scheduling a laser therapy session.
